Goodbye 2009….Hello 2010!

As I sit here thinking about how great 2009 has been to me, I can’t help but think, dream, and wonder what 2010 will be like. I only started my business side of photography in February of 2009, so I have almost hit the one year mark. With that being said I am so thankful for the people that have come into my life and the new friends I have be-friended. I also need to thank my clients, past, present and future! Also my husband and family, with out a doubt they have and continue to support me through this awesome journey. I love you all! With-out any, and all of you none of this would be possible. You have all helped me enormously, and words can not describe how thankful I am to all of you. 2009 will always have a memorable spot in my heart because of all the moments and milestones it has brought to me.

With that being said, BRING on 2010 baby!!!

Here’s what I am planning on blogging about this year….ooooohhh I can’t wait…hehe. So, I will be blogging about my work, my personal life, Things I love, Things I can’t live with-out, and possibly, possibly I will attempt the in-famous 101 in 1001 days. For those of you who do not know what this is, I will explain. It is a giant list of 101 things that you would like to attempt or achieve in 1001 days. These may be goals, personal or career related, or anything you can think of that you would like to do. Think of it as a bucket list, or things-to-do-before-you-die list. You know? I don’t know too many people who have created a list and done everything on it, in 1001 days. We shall see. Never say never..right? I am still having a little trouble putting together a full list of 101 things. It’s harder then you might think.

I know some photographer’s will write a really  big year end post, but I prefer the short and sweet kick off to the new year. So here’s to 2010. I hope all of your dreams, inspirations and hopes come to you this year!!!

Woot Woot!!!

Me and My Sista!

I would have liked to have blogged this a couple of days before Christmas, alas… This was a Christmas gift for my mom(Or should I say our mom, since I am talking about my sister as well). This is Kira. She is a bit of a goofball. She also has really pretty eyes. I love her eyes, even though when she smiles or laughs really hard they kinda disappear, when you look at these pictures you will see the awesome-ness of her eyes. I did NOT do any colour enhancing on her eyes. All I did was sharpen the image and viola! And I guess I love her goofball ways. We set out one morning in the freezing cold that is also known as Parry Sound, and we went looking for a good place to do some pictures. A place that we wouldn’t have to trek through 4 feet of snow to get to. We ended up at Tower Hill and I am really happy with the shots that we got….. And we only had to trek through 3 feet of snow to get to some of the spots… hehe.

Of course, some of that goofball is just-a-shinin’ through

I like this one…so pretty…. and who doesn’t love a good sun-flare??

S-N-O-W!!!!

Vogue!

uh-hem…. May I introduce Ms. Stink-eye.

Look at those pretty little peepers!

And a few little pictures of yours truly….

Better Together: The Painter Family

Can you believe that it is the eve of Christmas eve (if that makes sense?)???? Where has 2009 gone? Every moment and milestone this past year has just flown right on by. I love Christmas. The family, the food, the fun, and of course the giving and receiving of present (who-ever says that they only like giving presents, not receiving them, is lying hardcore!) Every year I sit and wonder if my husband or family will like the gifts I have gotten for them. This year, my daughter is one year older and Christmas will be quite different then last year’s. Her expressions, her sounds, everything about it will be wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! This year is also different from last year  because my parents who live in Edmonton have come to stay with us and again Christmas will be that much better then last because they are here and we are all together! Love, love, love!!!

Okay, okay….. On with my other favorite part of my life….. My work. A few days ago I did a family shoot with the Painters. No, this is not the Painter family that I shot one month ago (which you can see here). This is the other Painters. They are in-fact all related. Brothers, and sister-in-laws…. and cousins for that fact. This is Chris, Natasha and their beautiful brood! I am also friends with this lovely family, and it wasn’t until recently that I have become much closer friends to them. They are a HOOT! They love life and they love their family.  Anyway,  I am hoping to do a Christmas Day post, with some prezzy opening and details about my Christmas festivus!! In the meantime, you may get your red and green fix from these awesome fam portraits of the Painters!

I couldn’t decide between this one……….

Or this one, so I picked both!

Kids & Christmas

Helloooooo Blog readers. Yesterday started off with a shoot with a couple of great lookin’ kids! Lily(who you may recognize-this little peanut was my guinea pig when I started up back in February), Jared, and Lauryn. These kids were great to work with and they made my job pretty easy when it came time to start taking some pictures. I would love to write a much bigger post on these kids but, I have much more editing to do, including some family pictures that I took today. Look out for those in the next few days!

A little arm wrestle…..

Love the light in this shot!!

Taboo Love

Meet Corey and Nina. They met three years ago. They fell in love. A modern day love story. I love love stories. When Nina first contacted me, I was excited. For one, I love meeting new couples in love. Two, it would be my very first engagement shoot. Woot, Woot!! Another reason why I was excited, is because I have a little surprise….. Something that is in the works and all will be revealed when it is done…. Hehe.

So we schedule the shoot everything was good, and then the day of we had to re-schedule. There is a lot of colds and flu’s going around, and my couple happened to be victim to that (Boo!). So, we re-schedule and then another unplanned circumstance came about, so we re-scheduled again. Well, third time was the charm! Even though we haven’t had any snow fall yet, we have been having plenty of rain! This day was no different, cue the rain! I suppose you could say I am getting used to shooting in the rain.

Thanks to the lovely people at Taboo Resort, they were kind enough to let us use the inside facilities of the resort. Even though they were all closed up for the season. Special thanks goes out to Cindy and Warren! You Rock!! This place was unbelievable! So gorgeous, so pretty, so modern! I could go on and on about this place.

I know I am talking a lot, so on that note I will get on with the pictures! Here ya go…

This one makes me giggle…..

Ssoooo Cute…. And I’m not just saying that

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a family shoot with The Painters. You may remember them from yesterday’s post and from here. The Painters are dear friends of mine and I have known them both for a long time. They have an amazingly cute family and I was sssooo thrilled for them when they announced that they were expanding their brood. Now that Charlotte (or Charlie) has arrived it was picture time once again. Charlotte is the most petit thing I have seen in a long time. Every time I see her I can’t believe how tiny she is. Olivia is Charlotte’s big sister and she is starting to become a rock star in front of the camera. Even as I was packing up my equipment she wanted me to take more pictures of her. Which is great! I will never turn down the opportunity to take a picture. Shelby is the big, big sister. She is the uber role model for both of these little girls and she was equally beautiful. She definitely has her dad’s presence in front of the camera! These pictures that I took of The Painters are awesome. I love how they turned out, and even with one window in their living room, we made it work and I love it!! Thank you again Painter Family!!
