This past week I had the awesome AWESOME chance to go down to New Orleans for the Pictage PartnerCon. This is a yearly conference for photographers, usually held in Los Angeles but this year it was in New Orleans. This conference gives the chance to all photographers to meet new friends, attend seminars, and partake in a shooting workshop. This was an amazing trip and I am so thankful that I was able to go.
The first seminar that I went to, and the one that had the most Impact on me was held by Jason Aten. His seminar was titled “Starting out right: Top 10 things for the first 2 years”. This seminar was packed full of information that I will be putting into my business. From networking, to contracts, to keeping those relationships with everyone I encounter, it was all amazing!! Just Amazing!!
The rest of the seminars I attended were all great. My goal is to take at least one thing from each seminar and apply it to my business or my shooting process. I found that coming out of this conference I am a slightly different person. Smarter maybe? Or more confident in what I am doing? One thing for sure, is that I am definitely inspired. That was the theme for the conference. Dream. Create. Inspire. Isn’t that great?? I think so.
Along with attending all of the great seminars and the shooting workshop(which I will be blogging about tomorrow…oooh can’t wait), I managed to meet new people and make some new friends. Friends that are all wonderful and ssooo talented!! A bunch of us went out to dinner the first night in NOLA and we decided on Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant. Appropriately named… NOLA. The food was sssooo good, and they had these awesome Jalapeno Cornbread muffins and rosemary/onion buns…. They were both tiny, and cute! Just enough before the huge meals we all got! Thank you friends for making this experience even better!
Now, on wards with some pictures! The First day I got to NOLA I went out, and I went to Jackson Square. This is a historic park in the french quarter. I got some shots of the cathedral and of course some people along the way…. I’ll tell ya, there are some interesting characters in NOLA, but one thing is for sure, they are all very welcoming!
